ഒരു മഴയ്ക്ക്‌ കാതോര്‍ത്ത് : വേനല്‍ച്ചൂടിലെ വേദനയില്‍ ഒരു തണല്‍ പോലുമില്ലാത്ത ചുള്ളിക്കൊമ്പില്‍ ഒരു മഴയ്ക്കോ ഇളംകാറ്റിനോ കാതോര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ് ഈ കൊക്ക്. പാലക്കാട്‌ മലമ്പുഴയ്ക്കടുത്ത്, ഗ്രാമവും വനവും കൈകോര്‍ക്കുന്ന കവ എന്ന പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്ന് ഒരു കാഴ്ച.

വീട്ടിലേയ്ക്കുള്ള വഴിയില്‍: കാറ്റിലാടുന്ന പച്ചപ്പുല്ലുകള്‍ക്കും കതിര്‍മണികള്‍ക്കും വിയര്‍പ്പണിഞ്ഞ ഒരു ഗന്ധമുണ്ട്. മണ്ണിനോട് മല്ലടിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കര്‍ഷകന്റെ  കഥ അവയ്ക്ക് പറയാനുണ്ടാവും. പാടത്തെ പണികഴിഞ്ഞു വീട്ടിലേയ്ക്കു മടങ്ങുകയാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം. പാലക്കാട്‌ കൊടുവായൂരില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു കാഴ്ച.
Pastoral: Winds bracing amidst the toddy palms and paddy fields have a story to tell. A story of tireless striving and naive hopes, at times bearing fruits; at times thwarted by the whiplashes of nature. This farmer is returning home for a sleepful of sweet dreams.

വേനല്‍ വിരിഞ്ഞ ഈ പാടത്തേയ്ക്ക് ഒന്ന് നോക്കൂ. കുറച്ചു നാള്‍ മുന്‍പ് ഇവിടം ഒരു ഹരിത ഭൂമിയായിരുന്നു പോല്‍. ആ പ്രതാപമെല്ലാം ഋതുഭേദം കവര്‍ന്നെടുത്തു.  എന്നിട്ടും വേനല്‍ വിരിച്ച പാടങ്ങള്‍ക്കു സൗന്ദര്യമേകി ആകാശത്തിനതിരിട്ടു നില്‍ക്കുകയാണ് ഈ കരിമ്പനകള്‍.  ദൃശ്യം പാലക്കാട്‌ കിണാശേരിയില്‍ നിന്ന്.

ഒരു നേരത്തെ അന്നതിനായ്:മലമ്പുഴ ഡാമിന് സമീപത്തെ മുളം കാടുകളില്‍ നിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ച ഇല്ലിക്കെട്ടു തലയിലേന്തിയ വീട്ടമ്മ....ഇതു കൊണ്ട് എത്തിച്ചിട്ട് വേണം ഒരു നേരത്തെ അന്നത്തിനുള്ള വഴി തേടാന്‍.
This housewife is seen gathering and carrying dried brambles and bamboo. This can keep her hearth alive. But what does she cook there? To earn something to cook, she now has to put this home and then toil again. The thorns and clouds are but the things that give you the zest for life, no?

Shades, Sands and Water

This sandbanks witness the confluence of two rivers: The Nila and The Thootha. Nila, aka BharathaPuzha, has been a perennial inspiration for M.T.Vasudevan Nair one of the most venerated writers of Kerala. The longest river of Kerala has lost much of its waterbed to sands and bramble bushes.

Ringing Prayers for Rain

Lush Lovely Greens

The Journey of Life

For the onlookers this is a romantic landscape; for the people involved it is one of the painful drives across the Malampuzha reservoir which separates their hamlet from the mainland of Malampuzha, Palakkad.

        ഒരു കുട്ടം പെടാപ്പാട്. പ്രകൃതിയും, ആകാശവും, ഒരു പോലെ ഇവരുടെ  സാഹസിക   യാത്രയ്ക്ക് സൗന്ദര്യമേകിയപ്പോള്‍ മലമ്പുഴയെന്ന ഈ കൊച്ചു ഗ്രാമം പോലും   നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം കവരുന്നു....

ആ സുന്ദരകാലം.മനുഷ്യ മനസിനെ പോലും കുളിര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന 

ആ കാലത്തിലുടെ മണ്ണിന്റെ മണമുള്ള അട്ടപ്പാടിയിലുടെ ഒരു യാത്ര

The Grand Clumination

 The grand finale of the Pariyanampatta Pooram. Dummy horses and dummy bullocks line up on either sides, along with live caparisoned elephants to the accompaniment of the enchanting rhythms of Panchavadyam and Chendamelam.

ആകാശത്തിലെവിടയോ ഉള്ള സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിന് നേരെ ചൂണ്ടുന്ന രഥം ... വള്ളുവനാടന്‍ വള്ളൂവനാടന്‍   ഗ്രാമക്കഴ്ച്ചകളുടെ സമസ്ത സൌന്ദര്യവും കാണണമെങ്കില്‍ ഇവിടെയെത്തണം ...ഇതാണു പരിയാനമ്പറ്റ..ഇണക്കാളകളും കുതിരകളും ഓരോ ദേശത്തിന്റെ അവേശമായി നിരക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഈ ഉല്‍സവക്കാഴ്ച്ചയ്ക്ക്  പരിസമാപ്തി. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം എല്ലാ മലയാളികളും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാകും .... ഐ.വി ശശിയുടെ ദേവാസുരത്തിലൂടെ....

Bhaarathappuzha, Nila

 One face of the Nila river aka BharataPuzha, the longest river of Kerala. It's a cultural icon of North Kerala's rural life, and has inspired many a writer. Nowadays, sand mining and other human invasions have bereft the river of its beauty and water richness. Only for a few months during the monsoons do the river flow full. Other times narrow streams in the middle of the flow trail are enshrouded by vast sand banks.

ഇതാ നിളയുടെ ഒരു തീരം......വള്ളുവനാടന്‍ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളുടെ സംസ്കാരം അലിഞ്ഞു ചേര്‍ന്നിട്ടുണ്ട് ഈ പുഴയില്‍... ............. .... ഒരു ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയും സ്വപ്നവും  അനുഭവിച്ചറിയാം ഈ കടവിലെത്തുന്നവര്‍ക്ക്

          തീരം. മാമാങ്ക സ്മൃതികള്‍, കാളവേലയുടെ ചന്തം, ഗജരാജന്മാര്‍ തിളമ്പേറ്റുന്ന 

          ഉത്സവ മുറ്റങ്ങള്‍, താള ഗോപുരമുയരുന്ന ആല്‍തറകള്‍അ ഴകിനു പേരാണ് നിള.....

          കല്‍‌പാത്തിയുടെ അഗ്രഹാര വീഥികളും, വാളയാര്‍ ചുരം കടനെത്തുന്ന കരിമ്പനകാറ്റും , 

          ചെമ്പൈയുടെ സംഗീത മുറ്റവും നിളയുടെ നീര്‍ വഴികള്‍ക്ക് മാറ്റു കുട്ടുന്നു...
