Ringing Prayers for Rain

Komaram or Velichapadu is a colourful myth of Kerala. Dressed in glaring crimson, wearing resounding anklets, and bearing a sword in hand, this minstrel of the gods roam the land making predictions, offering prayers, harbingers of good and bad.

മണ്ണിനും മനസിനും ബാധിച്ച വ്യാധികള്‍ ഒഴിയാന്‍മൂര്‍ധാവിലെ രക്തകറയുമായി നെല്ലറയുടെ തട്ടകങ്ങളില്‍കാണുന്ന വേനല്‍ കാഴ്ച.വരണ്ട വയലോലകള്‍ തണുക്കാനും ജീവന്‍റെ പുതുനാമ്പുകളകാന്‍മഴ ദൈവങ്ങളെയും .. വ്യാധികളുടെ വിത്തോഴിയന്‍ ഭന്ദ്രകാളിയും ആര്‍ത്തു വിളിച്ചു പാടിയെത്തുന്ന കോമരങ്ങള്‍ കാര്‍ഷിക സംസ്കൃതിയുടെ നിറമുള്ള കാഴ്ചയാണ്.
